In this work, the photographer captures the essence of the history of the building. The lighting is superb, and conveys a mood of desolation and a structure that still warrants attention. The sunlight in this photo enhances the scene beyond the ordinary. The depth really adds to the impact of this photograph. The glowing doorways make the viewer want to explore further, to see what this structure has to offer, or is hiding. The rocks in the foreground give a sense of destruction. The way the light is falling onto the floor provides an excellent vanishing point, drawing our attention to the center, which gives the photo balance. The composition is excellent. While abandoned, the artist still provided a sense of this structure at one time being a location of activity. All in all, this photograph makes a strong and lasting impact on the viewer.
